ReS – Resonant String Shell is an acoustic shell for amplify and diffuse acoustic music played outdoor, built during the Wsound workshop.

From the Wsound workshop subscription rules:

Purpose of the workshop: Training of Digital workers for the final design and self-construction of a temporary wooden pavilion for classical music concerts and outdoor entertainments, for max 12 musicians and actors.

ReS acoustic shell will be designed for acoustic optimization. Part of the process of self-construction / auto-production design work will be conducted through the integration of advanced design processes.
Parametric design software will be used for the Acoustic Design (cover ReS with reflective acoustic panels, adjustable to direct and amplify the sound towards the audience) and the Lighting Design (dress ReS and the historical garden with scene lamps and with complements designed and made in situ with the 3D printer). Students and teachers will build together the designed project. The music pavilion will be assembled in the spaces of the historic garden of Villa Pennisi.
